The sales pitch of selling oneself to a prospective employer is accomplished during the job interview process. In a lucrative job interview there are two things that are achieved. The primary achievement is associated with identifying yourself as a desired asset that is essential in the future success of the company. The next achievement is deciding whether or not this company is the right place for your future. This can be achieved through the conversation you have in the job interview with the interviewer, taking into account their personal opinion and experiences with the company.

It is important that you identify what you hope to achieve at the company and what your expectations will be in regards to the job position during the job interview. However, also be very clear on what you do not want from a company. For example, if you are looking for workless weekends from a Monday through Friday job it important to clarify that in the job interview so that it does not surprise you in the event you are hired. Identifying a clear list of your wants and do not wants will help clarify for a company your intentions and whether you will fit in their environment.

Along with the selling of yourself it is important that you allow the job interviewer to feel like they are selling their company. After a day of job interviews there is nothing more memorable for an interviewer then an active conversation with one of the interviewees. The most effective way to draw an interviewer into an active conversation is to turn the job interview around and begin to conduct your own version of the job interview answering job interview questions that you may have.

It is important to establish a rapport with the individual interviewing you and this is best achieved through job interview questions. In this flipped job interview you can learn more of the opinions the employee has on the company and what the company may specifically be looking for during the hiring process. This style of memory building not only keeps you on the mind of the employment decider but also give you an inside track on what to express when you are called back for future interviews.

After you complete a job interview do not go home and wait by the phone. It is important to show an employer that you want this position so regularly call and e-mail the interviewer for updates on the hiring process. This continuous communication will keep your presence in the mind of the hirer and show that you have a true interest in working for that company. - 31896
